Websites for Massage, Wellness & Holistic Therapy

Usually one person, running everything from a rented room, with a booking page on somebody else's platform that loads slowly and looks nothing like them. The work is often excellent and completely invisible — the site's job is to make the person behind it findable and credible before anyone has met them.

What usually goes wrong

The four problems I find most in this trade.

Not generic web-design advice. These are the specific failures that turn up over and over when running real Google audits on businesses like yours — each one with what it's actually costing you and how it gets fixed.

01

The website is somebody else's booking page

What happensThe web presence is a profile on a marketplace platform, or a single link tree.
What it costsYou're renting an address, competing with everyone else on that platform, and building none of your own search presence. If they change the rules, you start again.
The fixYour own site that you own, with the booking platform kept exactly as it is and linked in — nothing to migrate, no risk to existing bookings.
02

Treatments have no durations or prices

What happensA list of therapy names with no time, no price and no explanation of what happens.
What it costsNobody books an unknown quantity for an unknown price. They pick the therapist who told them.
The fixEvery treatment with its duration, price and a plain-English description of what actually happens during it.
03

The site is genuinely, measurably slow

What happensUncompressed images and a heavy theme. One wellness site audited here took 17.9 seconds to show content on a phone.
What it costsAlmost everyone leaves before anything appears. The Google score was 35 out of 100 and the owner had no idea, because on her laptop on wifi it felt fine.
The fixHand-coded rebuild targeting 97+ on Google's own mobile test, with the before-and-after numbers handed to you.
04

Your qualifications and approach aren't explained

What happensA short bio and a certificate logo, with nothing about how you actually work.
What it costsThis is a high-trust, physically intimate service. People need to feel they know you before they book.
The fixA proper About page in your own voice, qualifications and insurance stated clearly, and a "what your first session is like" section that removes the nervousness.

What I'd build you

Designed around your business, not a template.

Wellness covers wildly different businesses and the sites should reflect that. A sports massage therapist is chosen on outcome and rehabilitation credentials, so the copy is closer to a physiotherapist's than a spa's. A reiki or holistic practitioner is chosen on how the practice feels, so photography, pace and tone are carrying the sale. A multi-therapy studio needs each therapy to have its own findable page, because "pregnancy massage [town]" and "deep tissue [town]" are entirely separate searches with different people behind them. Which one you are decides the whole design.

Pricing for wellness & massage

What it would cost you.

Guide prices based on the typical scope for this trade, one-off, with £0 a month on every tier. The free audit turns this into a real number — often a lower tier than people expect. And don't feel boxed in by the recommendation: pick by what you need the site to do.

Worth adding for wellness & massage

Fixed one-off prices, addable to any tier, and addable later rather than up front. These four are the ones that actually earn their money in this trade — the full list of fifteen is on the pricing page.

Don't buy any of these speculatively. After the free audit you'll be told which one or two would genuinely move your numbers, and which of the rest would just be me taking your money.

Questions from this trade

The ones that come up every time.

I only take bookings through an app. Do I still need a site?

Yes — because that app is where people book, not where they find you. Nobody searches a booking platform for "sports massage in Dronfield"; they search Google. A site is the thing that catches those searches and hands them to your booking app, which keeps working exactly as it does now.

Is my site actually as slow as you're implying?

It's easy to check and free. Run it through the instant tool on the home page — the wellness site quoted above took 17.9 seconds to show content and scored 35 out of 100, and the owner genuinely thought it was fine because she'd only ever opened it on a laptop on wifi.

Is £395 really enough for a therapy business?

For most single-practitioner practices, yes, and I'll say so rather than pushing you upwards. Five pages covers home, treatments with prices, about, what to expect and contact. Move up to £795 when you've got several distinct therapies that each deserve their own page in search.

Two ways to start, both free.

Already have a site? Take the audit — real Google data plus the checks an automated tool can't run, back within 24 hours. Haven't got one? Take the demo — a real working site for your business on a live link within 2 days. Neither costs you anything and neither needs a deposit.
